Courageous Leadership Where We Live, Learn and Earn
Balancing as a BOSS Lady
Often when we speak about leading for equity the hardest part of the work occurs in the mirror, by examining and adjusting ourselves first. One of the largest barriers to the equitable leadership approach we seek is that we do not start by ensuring there is an equitable distribution of time and energy in our own lives. For men this can be merely inconvenient as society tends to bend to the needs of the dominant, but for women there is a greater risk for this imbalance to be dangerous and life threatening.
The Five Pillars of Courageous Family Leadership—home, relational, personal, professional, and financial—are the backbone of our life’s leadership journey. Balancing these vital elements are crucial for leadership in schools, at work as well as in the home and can guide us through the complexities and inequalities we encounter in our daily lives.
For the group that is meeting today to decide, I would suggest the format of keynote with audience participation and questions OR keynote, panel, w/participant Q n A
