Multi-Tiered System of Supports for Adults

Supporting the whole educator Academic & Behavioral Interventions Educator Engagement & Motivation School Culture & Climate Trauma / Stress / ACEs

For years educators have been told to put their own masks on first and most recently there is a well overdue renewed interest in self-care, mindfulness and healthy living to manage the impacts of primary and secondary trauma. We know that if educators are mentally, physically and emotionally healthy they can better serve the needs of our students. Building support into the system to meet adults where they are and support their trauma will impact employee satisfaction, retention and lead to greater relationships with students and colleagues. This session will outline the thinking and process needed to build an MTSS model for the adults in your building. This same process can be used to build supports for students, but we must put our own masks on first.
