Navigating Systemic Change To Support and Protect Our Most Vulnerable
Our changing educational system has leaders constantly faced with overcoming their fears and navigating situations to do what is best for students. In this session the Water of Systems Change Framework, Cultural Proficiency, and Cultural Historical Literacy are used as a foundational tools to help you prepare to lead systemic change to support the students and families in your organization with the least agency and voice. Learn about how the first steps to this work are not outward, but internal, and begin with developing cultural connections with those closest to you and systemic power first. Then we will introduce you to a few activities that will help engage your board and executive leadership team in experiences that will begin to shift their collective ability to see the world through the lives of others. Culture work is hard, but we believe it can be done in a safe environment that is free of shame, blame and victimization and allows for brave action!
